News Item: My sweet little jazz band, the Lurid Spectacles (WE ALL WEAR GLASSES, GET IT??), will be performing on this very night at Tuesday Tease, where we’ll accompany the unique burlesque (unesque?) talents of Sailor St. Claire, Persephone Illyri, and Whisper de Corvo.
I’m sure it’s been done before, like, in history, but you’d be hard-pressed to find another burlesque review with a live band innit, at least locally. Although I’ve worked with many of these persons before, this is the current incarnation’s first show, with Jono Green lending us his orchestral expertise via bassoon (!), the peerless Tyson Lynn on guitar, Jeff Myers straight-up killing it on drums, and professional darling Jen Nelson on vocals. I’ll be handling keys of the piano and accordion varieties, in addition to leading the band. Come check us out at Lucid in the U District ’round 8:30pm, won’t you please?
Lucid Jazz Lounge is at 5241 University Way NE, at the north end of the Ave. Doors open at 7pm. VIP seating is $20, cabaret seating is $15, and general admission is $10.
